Successful Conclusion of the FIDE Fair Play Seminar in Budapest, Hungary

FIDE Fair Play Commission, in collaboration with the Hungarian Chess Federation, is thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of the FIDE Fair Play Seminar, held in Budapest, Hungary, from 15 to 18 September 2024.

The seminar was held during the 45th Chess Olympiad, led by FIDE FPL lecturers who expertly navigated various topics, including event preparations, interactions with tournament officials and spectators, crowd management, cheating prevention and detection, observations, body language, psychological aspects, and unusual behaviours. These discussions were all conducted with the overarching goal of recognizing, detecting, and preventing unethical practices while fostering a culture of positive chess ethics.

– Fair Play Theory and Practice at OTB Events

At the end of the seminar, on the successful completion of the exam, the seminar participants will receive an FPE seminar norm as one of the requirements for the FPE title.
