Fair Play Seminar in Abu Dhabi
The FIDE Fair Play Commission (FPL) is pleased to present a Fair Play Expert Seminar in Abu Dhabi, hosted by the UAE Chess Federation in the year of its 50th anniversary. The seminar will take place from 19 to 21 November 2026, followed by a Q&A and an exam on 22 November. It offers arbiters, organisers and others with a professional interest in fair play a thorough grounding in the work of a Fair Play Expert. If you would like to participate, please register as soon as possible. Places are limited to 30 and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
The seminar will be led by Gopakumar M S (FPL Councillor), an experienced Fair Play Officer who has worked at events such as the Chess Olympiad and the World Rapid and Blitz Championship. Andy Howie (FPL Chair) and Vincent Geeraets (FPL Secretary) will contribute online. Together they will guide you through the topics most relevant to the work of a Fair Play Expert (FPE): FIDE’s anti-cheating regulations, anti-cheating measures over the board and online, tournament security, statistics, evidence collection, and some of the most important FPL cases.
