Celebrating the Success of the FIDE Fair Play Seminar in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India
The FIDE Fair Play Commission, in collaboration with the All India Chess Federation, is thrilled to announce the outstanding success of the FIDE Fair Play Seminar, held during the FIDE World Junior U20 Championship in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India, from June 10 to 12, 2024.
This seminar was a momentous occasion. We were honoured to witness a record-breaking number of participants, a testament to the growing commitment to fair play in the chess community! Seventy dedicated individuals attended the seminar, and 67 of them took the exam.

- Anti-Cheating Regulations
- Prof. Regan’s Statistics
- Technical Devices and Their Usage
- Fair Play Theory and Practice at Over-the-Board (OTB) and Online Events
Our esteemed FIDE FPL lecturers skillfully navigated a variety of essential topics, including event preparations, interactions with tournament officials and spectators, crowd management, cheating prevention and detection, observations, body language, psychological aspects, and unusual behaviors. These comprehensive discussions were conducted with the overarching goal of recognizing, detecting, and preventing unethical practices while fostering a culture of positive chess ethics and fair play.
The feedback from our participants was overwhelmingly positive, reflecting the seminar’s success in imparting valuable knowledge and practical insights. We are immensely grateful to the All India Chess Federation for their exceptional support and collaboration, which were pivotal in making this seminar a remarkable success in the beautiful setting of Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India.
